Mason, WA
Mason County wraps around the Hood Canal, which means a large share of its homes are waterfront or near enough that salt air reaches them — Union, Hoodsport, Belfair and Allyn especially. It is also heavily timbered, so shade and needle load keep asphalt roofs damp and mossy for most of the year. Aluminum is the answer to both at once: it cannot corrode in the salt air, and it gives moss no granules or fibers to take hold in.

I have a cream and dark brown Tudor 2 story home and bought the slate profile in Tudor Brown. Many Tudor homes in my neighborhood also had tile concrete roofs that are 46 years old and near end of life. All have replaced with shingles, just doesn't look right and I think cheapens the look of the home. I payed way more than I planned but it was worth it. The roof is stunning! The crew here in Vancouver WA led by Tony with Caliss, Rueben and one other young man were the hardest working, most particular skilled craftsmen I could have hoped for. Very Happy!
