“I had a very good experience with Interlock. From the initial presentation to the installation, I was very impressed with the knowledge and thorough nature of each step. The finished product looks beautiful too! To know that I have a lifetime warranty on my 'forever home' is incredibly peace giving. If a company offers you a lifetime warranty on everything but the color (that warranty expires after 30 years), you know they will do all they can to make the finished product perfect! My ONLY reason for not giving 5 stars was that during the estimate, we were told we'd need to replace plywood due to mold. When it came time to actually install the plywood, they needed to double the amount required which increased our bid by over $2K. Obviously I wish the original estimate had been more accurate. That said, our attic now has the correct amount of ventilation, fresh plywood with no mold, protected skylights and solar tubes and a beautiful finished product. I'm very happy! If I could give 4.5 stars, I would!”

“Our new metal roof looks really nice, and our attic has been repaired and now has proper venting. The only unexpected issue is kind of cute. Baby crows like using it as a slide, but the noise is minimal. Rain sounds nice and soothing on it. Even hail isn’t too loud. To me, it’s nice to know the moment it starts raining now. Our 2 roof installers were kind and professional. We didn’t get the warning calls we needed in order to know when they would show up, so that needs improvement, whether it should come from them or the office. They finished the whole job in less time than expected even though there were additional repairs that needed to take place. We only got one section of gutter replaced and they matched it so well to our existing gutters that I don’t think anyone would be able to tell the difference. The mess outside was cleaned up very well. I think the only debris I found were small and fell out of plants weeks after they left. My plants were all unharmed too! The mess in the attic was pretty bad, so it would be worth it to add attic cleanup to your scope. Patrick, who we created the plan with was very knowledgeable and readily available to answer all of our questions. He was nice and showed no signs of annoyance with our fairly constant need for additional info. Other than the few minimal issues mentioned, it was an easy process, efficient, and we’re happy with the results.”

“I have a cream and dark brown Tudor 2 story home and bought the slate profile in Tudor Brown. Many Tudor homes in my neighborhood also had tile concrete roofs that are 46 years old and near end of life. All have replaced with shingles, just doesn't look right and I think cheapens the look of the home. I payed way more than I planned but it was worth it. The roof is stunning! I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.”

Deliver by the date in your contract. Communicate more honestly and effectively as issue arise. Clean up the dangerous small bits of construction debris left everywhere. We were told by the estimators that our existing main-roof skylights were high-quality Andersons in great condition and that they would be retained with the new roof. When we returned from our out of state trip we found holes covered with tarpaper where the skylights had been, and nobody from Interlock would own up to it, or give assurances as to when the holes would be filled. Someone failed to communicate with the crew, and it appeared they had scrapped our skylights. It took over two weeks and numerous phone calls before the new skylights were finally installed. Better and more timely communications with your customers when problems arise. It wasn't until we called Mr. Rasmussen that some action on the skylights issue got started.”

My wife and I really feel like communication can be improved a great deal. For example a good morning and good night text/email would be great. In the good morning communication you would say when you were going to arrive, who the point of contact for the day(Name, form of communication, etc) was and what they want to get done and what to expect including what time they were hoping to wrap up. In the good evening communication they would report what they got done, that they are done for the day, and what the next steps are.”

“I would recommend, with the caveat that the person didn’t need a new roof immediately and got a firm date absolutely nailed down. Not sure how much of the issue was due to the universal supply-chain problems, and how much was due to the labor shortage, but the roof went on a couple of months after it was implied by the salesman that it would go on, and about a month after the ‘will surely be on by’ time. However, when we had a leak in the interim, interlock sent a technician out who quickly and efficiently patched the problem until the full team could get here. There was also a small shed under the eaves that was going to get roofing to match the main roof, and I didn’t notice at the time but that didn’t happen. Not sure if it was in the contract or not. Maybe cut back on the sales until you get more materials and people ;p”

“I really really want to love my roof, I really do, and I'm almost there, only time will tell for sure. Roofs are an expensive investment literally on your most important asset. You need to have a product you can trust installed correctly to protect you, your assets in the home, and your family. You have choices on what kind of roof to put on and costs all over the place. Interlock aluminum roofing is not cheap, was not the most expensive quote I got, nor the lowest. The things that sold me were material, as aluminum will not rust, and being in Washington state, we get rain often so this was a factor. And then their warranty claims, which sadly I was lied directly to my face by their sales reps. Now don't get me wrong, their warranty is still very good, it was represented to me as even better than it actually is which really pisses me off. Had the sales reps told me the truth, I think I'd still have gone with their product because as I said their warranty is still very good. I hope the product does its job and I never have to use the warranty, that's the real goal here. Better communication, when crew was to arrive, when they would leave, if they leave will they return again that day.”

They had to redo the bid. I got emails sent to me that weren't even my estimate. It was somebody else's. I got the run-around and was trying to contact people. They were saying they would get me to them and nobody would ever call me back. I finally got a hold of someone who did communicate with me and finally got someone to come out to replace the roof. Interlock Roofing could have improved with the installation, workmanship as they are cleaning things up, and taking care of customers' property. Cleaning the gutters on the dormers is too dangerous and I have been unable to find anyone willing to climb on a metal roof. My internet communication antenna is at the highest point of the roof and should it ever require service I am concerned of my service provider’s ability to access it. And yes, it has to be at the highest point to “see” the transceiver at the service provider’s end. The positive aspects are its appearance, fire resistance, and long life.”

The installation was a challenge, and as a stickler for job site safety I had some material concerns during demolition. JOB SITE SAFETY The job site was unsafe to the point that I nearly cancelled the job. We had multiple young men with no fall protection on the ridge of our roof, for multiple days. They were doing demo and tossing pieces of roof material and plywood against our neighbor's home, our fence, and in the landscaping all around the house. They did little or nothing to protect our home, and scratched a massive picture window in the living room - just thoughtless, sloppy work. Daily cleanup. The sloppiness continued day after day, with the crews leaving tools, sharp pieces of cut and discarded metal, and their own beverage bottles and trash around our yard. It was bizarre. I run construction crews for a living, and would never allow this on any of my sites, particularly for a $45k premium roof installation. Vlad said he would go through the yard with a magnet to pick up all the metal material before he finished - he never did that and our 2.5yr old daughter still finds screws and composite in the garden. It's become a game for her. I take safety seriously. I know it is not my responsibility, but please, please find a better way to train and control for safety with on-site demo and install crews. Our roof is steep and 2.5 stories tall. A slip and fall would have been life altering, or fatal. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about the young men up there, several of whom appeared to have little or no job site experience. It was unsafe, messy, and gave me the sense that I had paid Interlock for a super-premium product, but was not getting anything near a premium service. Why would someone cut corners like that, and who was pocketing the difference between what I paid, and what those guys were getting paid? It gave me a bad feeling about the whole operation. Vlad's team eventually got the job done, and it looks great, but the whole”

I had the roof installed 2 years ago, & as noted in my original review below, the subcontractor at that time was less than attentive. Turns out, his crew was, too. In late 2020, there was a pretty significant leak into the kitchen from the sola tube, which prompted a repair call. Ivan (super knowledgeable guy) came out to inspect the leaks. Mr. Yvon Giroux, VP of Installation in Canada, decided to have his best crew come out & completely tear off not only the Interlock Roof, but the asphalt roof underneath it as well, & start from absolute scratch. The tear off, any repairs, & full installation was done in 2 days. Right after, we had several days of heavy rain. Not. One. Drip. Anywhere. Composition shingles are the worst type of roof you can have when living in a forested area; metal roofs are the best. Living on the Oregon Coast we get high winds every year. “We were looking towards metal (vs composite) roofing materials as we wanted an increase in fire resistance, and slippery surface to prevent fir needle gathering and moss growth resistance. We chose Interlock Roofing based on the material (Aluminum less heat retention), lifetime/50yr warranty, ease and quality of installation methods, no color fading, slickness of roof to prevent moss or needle accumulation (thereby fewer trip for me on the roof). The sales team was punctual, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful in discussing the product. They were timely in responding to my questions even after the sale. “When the crew was using the supplied nails for the job, those nails were twice as long as the thickness of the exposed tongue and groove roof accent areas. As a result, the nails completely penetrated those 3/4 inch boards and in some cases splintered the boards. This is visible from underneath in several areas, including over our entry way. In cases like this, shorter nails would have been appropriate. I’m going to have to figure a way to repair some of the damaged areas. Please remember, all the supplied nails were the same size.”

We warned them the yard was soft and to be careful not to break the stonework! They laid down plywood but then ended up with one tire on the stonework anyway breaking it and leaving large ruts in the lawn. They did fill in the ruts and seed with grass. He kind of shrugged it off and said, "We aren't landscapers". They didn't address the broken stonework.”

“We think that our roof may have been the first 'hip roof' that our particular installation team had worked on,because the ridge pieces were incorrectly applied to the 'hip' ridges. (Ridgeline was OK.) Once we realized that and notified Interlock, a correction was quickly (less than a week) done. Perhaps the different techniques for hip roofs vs. standard gable roofs should be more thoroughly emphasized in training.Also, when the first Office Admin assigned to our project left the company, that was not communicated. We just started getting e-mails from a different person, with no indication that this was a permanent change. We just assumed that the original person was temporarily out-of-office. That could have left us trying to communicate with the wrong person.”

We ordered our roof in April and was told that it would be installed in August or September because they were booked out that far, but we didn't receive a specific date. After our paperwork was processed, we heard nothing until I called in July to ask about a date. We experienced that if it is left to them to make contact, communication didn't happen. When they were supposed to start on a Friday, no one showed up, and no one called to let us know that they were held up at another job and wouldn't start until Monday. Monday came, and they still were not going to start until Tuesday or possibly Wednesday.”

“They showed up to install unannounced and we did not know they were coming. The workers left debris all around the yard, killed some plant and we are still finding cigarette butts in the yard. The roof looks great, just very disappointed with the workers and what they left behind.”

Dents were not very large. Also, there was a miscommunication between me and my bank. Bank asked what account the money should be deposited into but money was placed into another account causing my checks to Interlock to be returned as NSF.”

The crew cut off 2 feet of my 2 awnings to put the roof on. THAT was not part of the deal. Completely ruined the existing awnings beyond repair.The 3 veteran installers that came in to clean up this MESS, did a great job and were done very quickly.”

There was no communication from Interlock as for the reason why. The price increase from 46k to 48k was unexpected. We were determined to go with Interlock for a new roof but an opportunity to refinance our home from 5/1 ARM to fixed rate presented itself so took care of that first.Also, it would have been nice to have a final walk-through at the completion of the project before the final payment.”
